The objective of the Program is to transform tourism activities into the "new normal", building tourism into a safe tourism economy. The tourism industry will strictly follow the instructions of the health authorities, and at the same time organize tourism activities in a flexible, adaptive and effective way with the actual situation of epidemic prevention and control.
With the theme "Green connection for tourism in Vietnam", the program builds safety criteria at working positions in the tourism service chain to ensure both epidemic prevention and appropriate tourism business activities. fit. At the same time, develop a framework for organizing tourism activities in accordance with the general context and best meet the safety factor during the epidemic. Guidance for tourism associations and local tourism businesses to flexibly apply to the actual situation, detailing appropriate contents, easy to implement, monitor and evaluate results in provinces and cities. streets across the country.
In addition, the communication about safe tourism, about the program to restore tourism in the context of the new normal with the content of living with COVID-19 in each tourism business, creates tourists' confidence in the tourism industry. In the middle of the third week of September 2021, the Department of Tourism of Ho Chi Minh City coordinated with travel agencies in the city to build 2 pilot tour programs "Can Gio - Beautiful Nature" and "The Journey to the City". The program "Restoring domestic tourism nationwide" has also developed its own safety criteria for tourists aged 18 and over and tourists under 18 years old. At the same time, the Program sets out requirements for tourist destinations and accommodation establishments such as: tourist destinations in green areas and eligible to operate according to the criteria of safety against epidemics; serving the number of guests at the same time must not exceed 30-50% of the destination capacity (specified by the destination)…etc.
According to the Vietnam Tourism Association, the safety content of the Program is not only relevant to tourists but also related to the safety of the residential community, the region and the whole country.
